A senior source from the presidency has shared his thoughts on President Bola Tinubu’s academic records obtained from the Chicago State University (CSU).
Naija News recalls that the CSU had released Tinubu’s result to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The CSU released the documents to Atiku on Monday in compliance with the order of a United States District Court in Northern District of Illinois.
Speaking to Punch on the development, the source who did not want to be mentioned said that the CSU has consistently maintained that the president is an alumnus of its institution.
He argued that Western Universities do not tell lies about those who graduated from their institution, as they are not interested in local politics.
The source wondered what Atiku wanted to prove despite the constant acknowledgment from the CSU.
He said, “There is no school abroad, especially in the West that will claim a person graduated from their university when he didn’t graduate. They don’t have any interest in our local politics.
“So when Salisu Buhari claimed to have graduated from the University of Toronto, it was through an email they said they don’t know him. He’s not in their records. But CSU has been consistent about the President graduating from their school since people have been asking in 1999.
